About
Four 16-foot-diameter yurts sit atop the hill at Milan Hill State Park in New Hampshire's North Country, near the park's historic fire tower. Each has twin bunk beds along the back wall plus a full-size fold-out futon and futon chair - comfortable sleeping for about 4, though the park's own booking system lists a 6-person capacity. There's no electricity or heat, no kitchen, and no private bathroom (the campground has pit toilets only, no showers), but each yurt has an open ceiling for stargazing on clear nights. Yurt 1 is wheelchair accessible. Pets are permitted.
Fees
Milan Hill's yurts run $50/night. A $7 reservation fee applies per booking, per New Hampshire's statewide camping fee schedule.
These yurts run from early May through mid-October (with the last reservable date in mid-October), and are closed over the winter - there's no heat inside them even during the open season, so pack accordingly for shoulder-season nights.
