Wrangler Trailhead (OT) the Forest Service's write-up
season January to December
The Wrangler Trailhead provides access to the Victory Section of the Ozark Trail.
Named after the one-room schoolhouse that formerly stood near one of the trailheads, this isolated section of the Ozark Trail is separated from the Wappapello Lake Section’s southern terminus by the Black River and three miles of rugged terrain. The trail goes through heavy oak forests with small meadows and streams providing variety in the landscape. Water is available in creeks along the trail.
This trailhead offers four primitive campsites with fire rings, lamp posts, and horse tie-ups.
The parking area at the trailhead can fit several cars and trucks with trailers.
Directions from Poplar Bluff: Take 67 north out of town for about 9 miles and take a left turn on Forest Road 3110 (also known as Butler County Rd. 402). Take this road for about 5 miles and the trailhead will be on the lefthand (south) side of the road.
