Shadow Mountain North Trailhead the Forest Service's write-up
This trailhead is located at the base of Shadow Mountain, north of Jackson off of the Antelope Flats Road. It is accessed through Grand Teton National Park, but does not require a park pass. The road turns to gravel at the forest boundary and continues along the base of the mountain until reaching a right hand turn which brings users up to the trailhead parking area, located in an open area surrounded by lodge pole and aspen forest with great views of the Tetons. This trailhead provides access to several motorized ATV trails including the Lost Cr Trail #4210, the Shadow Road Bypass #4211, and the Shadow NE and NW Loops #4212 and 4213. No facilities are located at the trailhead but there are dispersed camp sites nearby. Single kiosk with a map, and boulders defining the parking area. Cellular service is available but can be spotty. Trailhead can accommodate trailers.

About this trail's facts
The lines are the US Forest Service's National Forest System trails layer (public domain), read 2026-10-16 and simplified for the map; the length is the line's, end to end, and the class, surface, grade and tread width are the forest's own entries where it publishes them - a forest that publishes the centreline alone has none. The trailheads and the points along the way are the Service's recreation points, and the write-ups its own recarea text, unedited. Heights come from USGS 3DEP through Terrain Tiles on AWS (Mapzen/Tilezen), read along each line and rounded; a short trail on steep ground can be off by a few tens of feet. Closures change: check the forest's own site before you go.
