North Fork Fall Creek Trailhead the Forest Service's write-up

This is a remote trailhead located near Red Top Meadows, off of the Fall Creek Road out of Wilson, Wyoming. The trailhead is basically a grassy parking area near Fall Creek, just off of the main access road before the gate. The access road is gravel part way but then turns to dirt and can be very slick in the spring and fall. Four wheel drive and high clearance is recommended. This is the main access to the North Fork of Fall Creek Trail #4008, which is a rough, non-motorized trail leading visitors along the creek and up to the Snake River Divide. This area is popular mainly during hunting season. No facilities exist on site although dispersed camping is available. No existing signage. No cellular service available. Trailhead is large enough for trailer turnaround.

About this trail's facts

The lines are the US Forest Service's National Forest System trails layer (public domain), read 2026-10-16 and simplified for the map; the length is the line's, end to end, and the class, surface, grade and tread width are the forest's own entries where it publishes them - a forest that publishes the centreline alone has none. The trailheads and the points along the way are the Service's recreation points, and the write-ups its own recarea text, unedited. Heights come from USGS 3DEP through Terrain Tiles on AWS (Mapzen/Tilezen), read along each line and rounded; a short trail on steep ground can be off by a few tens of feet. Closures change: check the forest's own site before you go.
