Parking at trailhead is for day use only, no overnight parking. Three miles north of LaPrele Guard Station and Campbell Creek Campground on the Cold Springs Road. Great access for elk and deer hunters. The first ½ mile is through private land, so please stay on the trail. The next mile passes through State Land where day use is allowed but overnight camping is prohibited. The last 1½ miles to the base of Twin Peaks leaves Roaring Fork Creek and gains elevation more rapidly. Views of the Laramie Mountains can be enjoyed from the top of Twin Peaks. There are limited Forest Service campsites along County Road 24, next to La Prele Creek. Because there is mixed private land and public land along the creek and road, make sure you are on public land before camping or hiking off the road. .

Restrictions Wyoming State OHV sticker required on all FS trails. Vehicles must be 50" or less in width.

About this trail's facts

The lines are the US Forest Service's National Forest System trails layer (public domain), read 2026-10-16 and simplified for the map; the length is the line's, end to end, and the class, surface, grade and tread width are the forest's own entries where it publishes them - a forest that publishes the centreline alone has none. The trailheads and the points along the way are the Service's recreation points, and the write-ups its own recarea text, unedited. Heights come from USGS 3DEP through Terrain Tiles on AWS (Mapzen/Tilezen), read along each line and rounded; a short trail on steep ground can be off by a few tens of feet. Closures change: check the forest's own site before you go.
