Jack Creek Trailhead the Forest Service's write-up

No site fee; current Colorado ATV/OHV/Snowmobile registration required.

Located outside of Walden CO, this primitive trailhead provides access to the Jack Creek drainage and the Never Summer Wilderness. The upper portion of FSR #758 is not suitable for passenger cars, 4WD is recommended. The trail is an old jeep road and is not well signed, although one should have no problem hiking through open meadows up to the pass. The trail is fairly steep up to the Continental Divide. Camping areas are available all along this trail. Spectacular views of Jack Creek drainage and the Never Summer Mountains can be seen. The trail enters the Never Summer Wilderness at the Continental Divide and Baker Pass. Please refer to the Wilderness Regulations. The wilderness is closed to motorized and mechanized vehicles.

Restrictions Special restrictions in Never Summer Wilderness.

About this trail's facts

The lines are the US Forest Service's National Forest System trails layer (public domain), read 2026-10-16 and simplified for the map; the length is the line's, end to end, and the class, surface, grade and tread width are the forest's own entries where it publishes them - a forest that publishes the centreline alone has none. The trailheads and the points along the way are the Service's recreation points, and the write-ups its own recarea text, unedited. Heights come from USGS 3DEP through Terrain Tiles on AWS (Mapzen/Tilezen), read along each line and rounded; a short trail on steep ground can be off by a few tens of feet. Closures change: check the forest's own site before you go.
