season June to
The Texas Creek Trail #416 begins at the Texas Creek Trailhead and dead ends in the Texas Creek Valley approximately a mile from two small lakes that lie at the head of the Valley. The trail heads eastward and enters the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness where Wilderness Regulations apply. It’s a gradual ascend as it follows Texas Creek where it will cross the creek three times in about half a mile. During spring runoff the water is usually high at these crossings. This trail will intersect with the Timberline Trail #414 and the Waterloo Gulch Trail #540 after approximately a mile and a half. At this intersection, stay to the right and continue eastward where it continues to climb to the headwaters of Texas Creek. Approximately a mile past the Brown’s Pass Trail #369 intersection, the trail will intersect the Magdalene Trail #542 where it can become difficult to follow. If you remain on the north side of the drainage, the trail can be found intermittently. The Texas Creek Trail is used mostly by fishermen to access Lake Claire and Rebecca Lake that lie at the head of the Texas Creek Valley.
Restrictions Open to Hiking and Horseback.
