About
This fire lookout sleeps up to four people (two single beds plus two additional mattresses) and is reached only by a 2.7-mile hike or bike ride from the Selkirk Lodge parking area - there's no vehicle access. It has a propane camp stove for cooking (propane provided) and dishwashing tubs, but no electricity - lighting is battery-powered night lights and an emergency lantern. Drinking water is provided, and there's a vault toilet outside. Pets aren't allowed. A 2-night minimum stay applies.
Fees
Washington's 2026 rate for this lookout is $99/night in peak season and $69-$79/night in shoulder season. Washington is restructuring this rate on Jan. 1, 2027 - check https://parks.wa.gov/passes-permits/reservations/overnight-roofed-accommodation-fees for the exact current price before booking.
This lookout is only open in summer (roughly June 15-Oct. 1) and is closed in winter per Washington's own statewide fee schedule - it's hike/bike-in only, with no winter road or trail access noted.
