About each unit

Spooner Lake Cabin · sleeps 4

One of two rustic backcountry cabins at Spooner Lake & Backcountry, sitting just north of Spooner Lake itself and sleeping up to 4 people comfortably. It comes with beds, a composting toilet, a cook stove, and a wood-burning stove for heat - pack in your own sleeping bags, food, and cooking utensils. Available May 1 through October 15 only. The park's own page doesn't say whether it has electricity or running water, or whether it's ADA accessible - call or email the park to confirm what to expect before booking.

Wildcat Cabin · sleeps 2

The more remote of Spooner Lake & Backcountry's two backcountry cabins, about 2.5 miles up North Canyon (several hundred yards off the road) and sleeping up to 2 people. Like the Spooner Lake Cabin, it comes with beds, a composting toilet, a cook stove, and a wood-burning stove for heat - pack in your own sleeping bags, food, and cooking utensils. Available May 1 through October 15 only. The park's own page doesn't say whether it has electricity or running water, or whether it's ADA accessible - call or email the park to confirm what to expect, and exactly how to reach it, before booking. Note this cabin reuses Spooner Lake & Backcountry's one published park coordinate, not a separate point for this specific 2.5-mile-distant cabin - no more precise location was found published anywhere.

Fees

Spooner Lake & Backcountry's own page doesn't publish a nightly rate for its two backcountry cabins - call the park at 775-749-5980 or email slsp@parks.nv.gov to ask about current pricing and availability before booking. Reservations on reservenevada.com carry a non-refundable $5.00 transaction fee per booking. You can book up to 11 months ahead, but must reserve at least 3 days before arrival. Cancelling more than a month before arrival forfeits only that $5 fee; less than a month but more than 3 days out adds a $10 fee; inside 3 days of arrival (or a no-show) forfeits $10 plus one night's cost. No refunds are given for weather, smoke, or other conditions outside the park's control.
