Montana's day-use entrance fee also applies on top of the nightly rate: residents who pay the $9 state parks fee with vehicle registration owe nothing extra; nonresidents pay $8/vehicle or $4/walk-in per day (or a $50/year or $35/7-day pass). A 50% discount applies statewide to Montana-resident seniors (62+), veterans, and people with disabilities. Reservations open up to 3 months ahead; canceling before check-in carries a flat $10 fee.
