About

Sleeps up to 8, on a remote, wild stretch of the Gulf of Alaska coast between Cape Suckling and Cape Yakataga, with the Bering Glacier and Vitus Lake to the north. Fly-in access only - a trail connects the cabin, the coast, and a natural landing strip about 7.3 miles away near a USGS research camp. Heated by an oil stove (bring your own #1 diesel or kerosene). Maximum stay is 7 consecutive nights. Weather here changes fast and hard - come prepared for sudden Gulf of Alaska storms. Like every Alaska State Parks public-use cabin, it comes with wooden sleeping platforms, a table, and chairs or benches, plus a nearby outdoor latrine - no running water or indoor plumbing. Bring your own sleeping bag or bedding, cooking stove and fuel, cookware and utensils, and a 9-volt battery for the smoke detector. A natural water source is usually nearby but must be purified before drinking.

Fees

$75/night (Alaska State Parks' own published cabin rate). Reserve America adds a non-refundable $5 transaction fee per booking (a $4 fee applies to date changes made at least 3 days before arrival).
