About each unit
Halibut Cove Lagoon East Cabin · sleeps 6
Sleeps up to 6. Reached by private boat, float plane, or commercial water taxi to a floating dock near the park's Ranger Station. Heated by a wood stove (bring your own wood). Kachemak Bay State Wilderness Park's own listing mentions one ADA-accessible cabin in the area without naming which specific unit, so it isn't assumed to be this one. Like every Alaska State Parks public-use cabin, it comes with wooden sleeping platforms, a table, and chairs or benches, plus a nearby outdoor latrine - no running water or indoor plumbing. Bring your own sleeping bag or bedding, cooking stove and fuel, cookware and utensils, and a 9-volt battery for the smoke detector. A natural water source is usually nearby but must be purified before drinking.
Halibut Cove Lagoon Overlook Cabin · sleeps 8
Sleeps up to 8. The first public-use cabin built in Kachemak Bay State Park (1992). Reached by private boat, float plane, or commercial water taxi to a floating dock near the Ranger Station.
Halibut Cove Lagoon West Cabin · sleeps 6
Sleeps up to 6, a half-mile by boat or a 0.7-mile trail walk west of the public dock. Heated by a wood stove (bring your own wood).
